  • The system consists of a No. 8 detonator featuring delays of 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000 ms, a sealing plug and a certain length of orange shock-tube (over 2 meters).

Prima-ERA-Tm

  • The system is suitable for blasting operations with use of detonator-sensitive packaged slurry.

Prima-ERA-Tm

  • Per customer request, the system can be fitted with a 50 m or more length of shock-tube bus line, assembled with a No. 6 delay detonator and connector.

PRIMA ERA Non-Electric Initiation System

Prima ERA, a water-resistant and highly safe system, is designed for initiation of boosters and primed cartridges when carrying out surface, underground and underwater blasting operations (in mines and pits, which are not combustible dust and firedamp explosion hazardous) and in tunneling, at temperatures ranging from –30ºС to +50ºС. It allows designing patterns for instantaneous and delay blasting with a wide range of delay intervals of 0 to 9000ms. Four types of the system are available: Prima-ERA-C, Prima-ERA-D, Prima-ERA-CD dual, Prima-ERA-T (Prima-ERA-Tm) tunnel work.

 

Prima-ERA-C-surface

Prima-ERA-C is meant for transmission and distribution of initiating impulse on the surface, in open pit mining.

It consists of a No. 6 detonator featuring delays of 0, 9, 17, 25, 42, 67, 109 and 176ms, housed in a corresponding color-coded plastic connector, a sealing plug and a certain length of blue shock-tube (over 2 meters).

 

 

Prima-ERA-D–downhole

Prima-ERA-D is designed for initiation of boosters and primed cartridges when blasting borehole charges.

It includes a No.8 detonator featuring delays of 400, 425, 450, 475 and 500ms, a sealing plug and a certain length of yellow shock-tube (over 2 meters).

Prima-ERA-C and Prima-ERA-D are recommended for combined use in blasting circuits mounted on borehole charges of required delay intervals.

 

Prima-ERA-CD-double

Prima-ERA-CD-double includes a No.6 detonator of 0, 9, 17, 25, 42, 67, 109 and 176ms delays, housed in a corresponding color-coded plastic connector, with a sealing plug, on one end of the shock-tube; as well as a No.8 detonator of 400, 425, 450, 475 and 500ms delays with a sealing plug on the other end of the same yellow shock-tube. The system’s No.8 detonator is used downhole, its No.6 detonator is connected to another shock-tube, by means of a connector, for a surface firing circuit.

 

Prima-ERA-T-tunnel

Prima-ERA-T-tunnel is designed for carrying out blasting operations in underground mining. The system consists of a No. 8 detonator featuring delays of 100, 200, 300, 400, 425, 450, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6000, 7000, 8000 and 9000ms, a sealing plug and a certain length of orange shock-tube (over 2 meters).

 

Prima-ERA-Тm-heavy-duty

Prima-ERA-Tm-heavy-duty is applied for blasting operations with the use of packaged detonator-sensitive slurry explosives. The system includes a No.8 detonator featuring delays of 100, 200, 300, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500 and 4000ms, a sealing plug and a certain length of orange shock-tube (over 2 meters).

Prima-ERA system is an assembly of a shock-tube and one or two detonators of certain delay time.

Shock-tube is a double-layer hollow plastic tube with external diameter of 3.00±0.15 mm, available in blue, yellow or orange colours, its inner surface coated with an active agent. It is characterized with excellent water resistance and high operation reliability; and is designed for transmission of an initiating pulse from the initiation device or element to the detonator.

Detonator is intended for transmission of an initiating pulse from the shock-tube. A No.6 detonator distributes an initiating pulse over the commutation circuit in Prima-ERA-С and Prima-ERA -СD systems. A No.8 detonator is used for shock initiation of boosters and primed cartridges in Prima-ERA -D, Prima-ERA -СD and Prima-ERA -Т systems.

An initiating pulse in shock tube can be created by plain detonators, electric detonators and a detonating cord having a core load not less than 6 g/m, and also by a high-energy spark. It is impossible to transmit an initiating pulse from one shock-tube to another without a No.6 detonator.

The system is insensitive to earth current, static electricity and electromagnetic radiation. It is highly insensitive to mechanical impact (up to 200 J) and sanitarily safe.

In contrast to conventional initiation devices, Prima-ERA non-electric initiation system ensures enhanced safety. Due to low sensitivity to earth current, it allows carrying out blasting operations without deenergizing power equipment.


Advantages of the system: low sensitivity to mechanical impact,

easy and reliable wiring of a firing circuit and increased safety during storage, transportation and use

 

Circuits for short-delay blasting with Prima-ERA non-electric initiation systems provide virtually absolute control of rock mass breaking and considerably reduce seismic and air blast effects, improving at the same time blasting results.

Prima-ERA non-electric initiation system can be used to initiate boosters at the bottom of borehole or blast-hole unlike a detonating cord, the most widely-used in Ukraine, which initiates explosives from the top of borehole or blast-hole.

When used to initiate relatively insensitive explosives, the detonating cord causes undesirable compression and burning-out of explosives, making them less efficient.
