Tank-Driving Simulator

The driving simulators are intended for developing and maintaining drivers skills in operating the T-64, T-72, T-55/62 tanks, infantry combat machines and armoured troop carriers under different road conditions during training in training centers and at higher educational establishments.

T-64, T-72, T-55/62 Tank-Driving Simulator,

INFANTRY COMBAT MACHINE AND

ARMOURED TROOP CARRIER DRIVING SIMULATORS

The driving simulators are intended for developing and maintaining drivers skills in operating the T-64, T-72, T-55/62 tanks, infantry combat machines and armoured troop carriers under different road conditions during training in training centers and at higher educational establishments.

Technical characteristics of the simulator:

  • Type - universal dynamic automated
  • Number of training places – 1
  • Number of instructors per simulator – 1
  • Permanent operation time, h – 6
  • Service instruction time, h – not less than 2
  • Supply voltage, V – 380
  • Mains frequency, Hz – 50
  • Power consumption, kW – 5
  • Area of one training place, m2 – not more than 25
  • Temperature range in the working room, oC, is +10...+30 and relative humidity is up to 80% at a temperature of + 25oC
  • Design and location of control units and instrumentation is in accordance with the tank, combat machine, or armoured troop carrier design
  • The room should be equipped with a device for windows dimming.

Simulator components

The driving training simulator consists of the following functional modules:

  • Trainee's working place – cabin
  • Simulator of the cabin dynamics
  • Instructor's working place
  • Computer
  • Software
  • Visualization device
  • Screen
  • Power supply units

A computer (two PC system blocks "Pentium III-500") in combination with electronic devices ensures the synthesis of:

  • graphic models of routes with a high degree of realism;
  • models of the simulator cabin oscillations;
  • models of sound imitation.

EFFECTIVENESS

The use of the simulator in the education process of the personnel training yields great economic effect due to saving  lubricants, oil, and fuel, extends the service life of machines, and  improves considerably the quality of training. The use of the simulator makes it possible to bring the driving on the simulator up to 75% of the training time, reducing the driving of combat machines to 25%. This results in lowering the costs of training of combat machine drivers by about 65%.

The pay-back period of the simulator is 3-4 months if 30 drivers are trained.
