Ukrainian and Turkish defence industry complexes start new joint projects, particularly in aerospace, aviation and armored industries. The corresponding agreement was reached during the working visit of Ukrainian delegation, headed by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleg Gladkovskiy, UKROBORONPROM First Deputy Director General Sergii Pinkas and Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Activity Denis Gurak, to the Republic of Turkey on 8-9 April 2015.
From now on, the rocket-and-space and defence sectors of Ukraine can take part in establishment of the Turkish national rocket station. In particular, Turkish side suggested to issue a single project framework contract, so that UKROBORONPROM enterprises and the State Space Agency of Ukraine will join the given project. In future, all technical and organizational aspects will be governed by additional agreements.Ukraine and Turkey also agreed on the joint development and production of turbojet and other aircraft engines, so it was decided to create a joint enterprise of “ZMBDB “Progress” named after Academiclan A.G. Ivchenko with “Turkish Engine Industries.”
Ukrainian enterprises of armored industry can participate in program implementation of the national Turkish tank "Altay" development, so they can jointly produce,develop and upgrade armored vehicles and other equipment, together with Turkish companies.In addition, Ukrainian defence industry enterprises were invited to join development and manufacture of radar, communication and navigation systems. Ukrainian and Turkish sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding, as the result of the meeting.
