The director of the “Spetstechnoexport” Pavlo Barbul has participated in the first US-Ukrainian business forum, which took place on July 13, 2015 in Washington. The forum was organized by American Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the US Department of Commerce. Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States, was the Chairman of the event. The world's largest investors George Soros and David Rubenstein were the speakers and moderators.
The main purpose of the event was to establish business relationships between American investors and Ukrainian manufacturers. The role of the SFTE “Spetstechnoexport” was to attract the American investments in the development of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. "Today the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is more than ever needed to be invested in. In particular, the cashflow is needed for the high-tech products production growth, which will be in favor of the Ukrainian army armament and be in demand on foreign markets. The “Spetstechnoexport” assumes that the priority should be aimed at the production output that corresponds to the NATO standards,"- Pavlo Barbul said.
During the event Pavlo Barbul held a lot of meetings with the representatives of the leading defense and investment US companies with a result of reaching the arrangements concerning a number of attractive projects.
It should be mentioned that Pavlo Barbul was appointed as a Director of the SFTE “Spetstechnoexport” from December 2014. Prior to his appointment, Pavlo Barbul was the Head of the Asset Management Department of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom".
