Ukraine has handed over the final eighths batch of aircrafts to India in framework of the major contract between the State Enterprise "SpetsTechnoExport" (the special exporter of State Concern "Ukroboronprom") and the Ministry of Defense of India. The last 5 modernized military transport aircraft AN-32RE were repaired and upgraded at Ukrainian “Plant 410 Civil Aviation” for the Indian Air Force, the operating lifetime of aircrafts was extended.
“Today we transfer another 5 modernized aircrafts and successfully complete one of the most important export contract which total value is $400 mln. After "Ukroboronpromom" gained control over Ukrainian strategic aviation enterprises, we have received an assignment to increase the number of manufactured aircrafts and expand cooperation in this area. Now we are moving steadily in that direction, and today’s event proves it”, - stated Arthur Heruvimov, the Deputy Director General for Development of Ukroboronprom.
Indian Air Forces ordered services for major repairs of 40 aircrafts and their life extension on 15 years. Specialists of the plant coped successfully with the set task and will subsequently accompany operation of this equipment.
Since the beginning of this year, numerous attempts were made to discredit the Ukrainian aircraft industry by spreading false information through various sources. However, the management of "SpetsTechnoExport" held talks with the Minister of Defense of India in February this year in Bangalore and consolidated cooperation between countries. The parties have signed additional contracts to repair damaged ANs and supply aviation spare parts that only benefit bilateral cooperation. There is also continued negotiations on establishing a base for training pilots in India.
According to Vladyslav Belbas, Deputy Director of "SpetsTechnoExport", Ukraine has demonstrated to its Indian partners the responsible attitude of Ukrainian companies to fulfillment of concluded agreements. "Thanks to the trust of the Indian side, today we can talk about a significant increase of our workload and additional supplies of a wide range of aviation spare parts for Indian market", - he said.
