During International Aerospace Summit 2015 in Ottava "Spetstehnoeksport" Director Pavlo Barbul and Ukroboronprom Director General Roman Romanov held talks with the leading Canadian companies for development of joint projects in the field of high-tech aircraft construction.
"Such cooperation is necessary for both countries to maintain their position in the global arms market. Production of modern aircraft engines, radars, navigation and communication systems, will significantly expand export opportunities of Ukraine. And in this case, we are talking about exporting equipment and services not only to third world countries”, - said Pavlo Barbul, director of "Spetstehnoeksport".
"World level companies, such as Pratt & Whitney Canada, United Technologies, Esterline Electronics, IMP Group, see Ukraine as their strategic partner. Aerospace branch remains a key sector for innovation and economic growth in Canada, so experience of this country will help us strengthen military-industrial potential of Ukraine", - said Roman Romanov, UKROBORONPROM Director General.
The meetings with the Chairman of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and Vice President of the World Ukrainian Congress Paul Grod, Vice-President of the Canadian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Ivan Ivanyura, Canadian Association of Defence and Security leadership were held in the frameworks of this visit; As a result, the parties agreed on further partnership development in the defense sector.
In October this year, SE "Antonov" ordered PW150A engines from Canadian company Pratt & Whitney Canada for their new An-132D. This will be the first major project in the defense sector, implemented in close cooperation with Canadian company.
