A new large-scale Ukrainian-Indian partnership in the military-technical sphere was launched
On April 27, 2016 - SC "Ukroboronprom", SE "SpetsTechnoExport" and SE "Antonov" signed three important documents with the Indian company "Reliance Defence Limited" and have launched a large-scale Ukrainian-Indian partnership in the military-technical sphere.
The SC "Ukroboronprom" and " Reliance Defence Limited" signed an agreement on strategic partnership which involves implementing a number of joint projects in aircraft building and aviation repairing, modernization of armored vehicles, maintenance of marine machines, engineering, production and supply of UAVs. The aim of this collaboration is access to leading positions in the defense sector in India in manufacturing, assembly and repair of military equipment and technology.
Between the SE "Antonov" and " Reliance Defence Limited" a memorandum on joint participation in the tender announced by the Indian corporation В«Hindustan Aeronautics LimitedВ» and presentation of the tender projects of production of passenger and cargo aircraft AN-148, AN-158, AN-178 was signed. The work share between the parties will be decided by mutually agreement. In case of winning the tender the sides will establish a joint venture for production and supply of aircraft to commercial and government operators in India in collaboration with "Hindustan Aeronautics Limited". Up to later plane assembly will take place in India with a gradual increase of localization of production in the country in accordance with the legislation of India and Ukraine by agreement of the parties. The partners also plan to organize a support in maintenance of the produced aircraft for the duration of their service at the Indian operators and in other countries.
Between SE "SpetsTechnoExport" and "Reliance Defence Limited " a memorandum on joint participation in the modernization of BMP-2 for the Indian Army was signed. Collaboration primarily concerns the manufacture and supply of components and systems for improving of BMPs mobility, modernization of BMPs sighting and fire control systems. The Indian park of BMP-2 different versions has approximately 2,000 vehicles and most of them need upgrading and improving tactical and technical characteristics.
The signed documents are the result of successful participation of the SC "Ukroboronprom" enterprises at the arms and equipment at «DefExpo-2016" and negotiations initiated by SE "SpetsTechnoExport."
During the events of signing official documents the representatives of "Reliance Defence Limited " visited the world's largest transport aircraft An-124-100 "Ruslan" and AN-225 "Mriya", An-70, the military transport aircraft with short takeoff and landing, appreciated performance capabilities of the passenger aircraft An-158 and the perspective transport aircraft An-178 during demonstration flights.
