In 2017, the State foreign trade enterprise "SpetsTechnoExport" fulfilled foreign-economic defense contracts worth $120 mln USD. 80% of the deals were related to the export of modern weapons and equipment of Ukrainian production to the needs of foreign partners. These are products and services produced by defense enterprises within the framework of the program of production capacities reloading after fulfilling all obligations under the State Defense Order.
In general, in the period of 2015-2017 the company performs contracts totalling $120-140 mln USD annually, paying all taxes to the state budget of Ukraine. An important fact, that 10% of export contracts relate to R&D in Ukraine in order to create innovative defense technologies for foreign partners purposes.
The half of export turnover of the "SpetsTechnoExport" is the export of defense products to India. Active work with Indian partners in the market of armaments and military equipment allowed in 2017 to fulfil export contracts with India for the total amount of 65 mln USD, and a year earlier - to complete the implementation of the bulk of the multi-year contract for upgrading An-32 aircraft for Indian Air Force worth $ 400 mln USD.
Also, during 2017, "SpetsTechnoExport" significantly intensified cooperation with such countries as Indonesia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia.
In 2017 "SpetsTechnoExport" was registered at the NATO Suppliers Base (NSPA), that opened up new opportunities for expanding cooperation with Western partners. The company became the first Ukrainian company to win an international public tender under the GPA rules, according to which "SpetsTechnoExport" will supply components to T-72 tanks to one of the EU countries.
Import contracts for the needs of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies continue to be deployed in priority regime. Supply of small arms and ammunition, sights and night vision devices, radio communication systems, systems of individual protection were the main areas of import activity of "SpetsTechnoExport" in 2017.
Pavlo Barbul, CEO of "SpetsTechnoExport" also noted that over the past three years, the company has been cooperating with hundreds of companies and state defense establishments from more than thirty countries in the world. "Currently, the company operates defence contracts totalling $ 180 mln USD. And the total volume of the orders portfolio of "Spetstechnoexport" is estimated at $ 500 mln USD. At the same time, all foreign economic activity of the company is based on the principles of self-sustainment and self-financing", - Pavlo Barbul added.
In the process of economic activity, "SpetsTechnoExport" has been regularly reviewed by various authorized state bodies. The company continues to provide control and law enforcement authorities with all necessary information and documents complying with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
At the same time, "SpetsTechnoExport" with the support of authorized state bodies, continues to monitor and inform law enforcement agencies about third parties actions, aimed at complicating the operation of defense industry enterprises in international markets through the spread of false information and interference in international relations.
The priorities for the enterprise still remain the activities to increase Ukraine's defense capability, strengthen the country's economic growth and fulfil all its obligations to its partners in the international market.
