The soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine conducted successful shoot tests of the PSRL-1 grenade launchers produced by the American company Air Tronic USA. They emphasized the undeniable advantages of this weapon compared to the Soviet RPG-7. This is reported by the National Guard press service.
High-precision grenade launchers PSRL-1 are supplied to Ukraine by the SE SFTE SpetsTechnoExport, which is part of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" under the export license of the DDTC DSP-5 of the US Department of State. Defensive supplies have been made to Ukraine since 2017.
The PSRL-1 grenade launcher is a deeply-modernized version of the Soviet RPG-7 , which has higher qualitative performance and effectiveness compared to its counterparts in the Ukrainian Army. PSRL-1 hits the target like armored vehicles, fortifications and enemy live forces from the first shot of 40-mm grenade. The effective range of an American grenade launcher is 800-1000 m, unlike 550 m of the Soviet RPG-7. PSRL has a Picatinny rail installed and reduced weight. The new optical system has been specially created for firing various types of projectiles from grenade launcher.
According to the National Guard press service, the military service has already developed a personnel training program and manual for PSRL-1 use.
Recall, that SE SFTE “SpetsTechnoExport” has successfully completed a contract for the supply of special purpose paratroop systems for airmobile insert and military cargoes airdrop systems, that are manufactured by the American company Airborne Systems North America. The equipment will be used by the air assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
