In the conditions of quarantine, limiting the possibility of foreign business trips, SE SE "Special TechnoExport" and SE "ANTONOV" held an online demonstration from the shop, where the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Peru is building an AN-178 aircraft.
Representatives of ANTONOV and SpetsTechnoExport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Peru took part in the video conference on behalf of the Ukrainian side.
The Peruvian customer was represented by the heads of the Office of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of Peru, the National Police of Peru, the Office of Strategic Procurement of the Aviation Department of the National Police of Peru.
Acting Sergey Bychkov, General Director of ANTONOV, reported on the readiness of the aircraft and its units, conducted a detailed demonstration of the entire production process directly from the assembly plant, which builds the aircraft (serial number 006), intended for delivery to the Republic of Peru. He also stressed that the AN-178 meets all modern requirements for aircraft of this class, combining high reliability with efficiency in operation.
"Two months ago, we completed the final assembly of the fuselage of this AN-178 for the Peruvian National Police. After that, work was carried out on the final assembly of the glider. Units such as tail feathers, centerplane, cantilevered wing parts are manufactured and installed. The caisson of the wing has been tested for overall tightness. Installation of systems, including air conditioning and fire protection systems, has begun, "he said.
Serhiy Bychkov added that pylons have already been made and almost all units are needed for engine mounting. Work is underway to install doors and hatches.
For their part, the Peruvian authorities assured that the contract for the supply of AN-178 is valid and there is no reason to terminate it.
It will be recalled that in November 2019, SpetsTechnoExport, a part of Ukroboronprom, signed a contract with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Peru for the supply of the AN-178 multi-purpose transport aircraft. The signing of the agreement opened the Latin American market for a new generation of Antonov aircraft.

The AN-178 multi-purpose transport aircraft was developed at the Antonov State Enterprise, which is part of the Ukroboronprom State Enterprise. AN-178 is a further development of the family of AN-148 / AN-158 certified regional jets.
The maximum flight altitude of the AN-178 is 12.2 km, the flight range is 5,500 km, the maximum speed is 825 km/h, and the payload is up to 18 tons. The aircraft can be operated from various airfields, including high-altitude and ground airfields.
The An-178 made its first flight in May 2015. Since then, measures have been taken to import the aircraft assembly. The An-178 was shown to the world at aerospace shows in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Turkey, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
